PORTLANDIA WEEK · PART 1 OF 5
Put a Bird on It
It is Mental Health Awareness Month, and my current ADHD hyper fixation is the show Portlandia. Instead of masking it to sound like a traditional CEO, I am leaning in.
Welcome to Portlandia Week on my feed!
If you know the show, you know the iconic "Put a Bird on It" sketch. They take ordinary items, put a bird on them, and call it elevated.
Honestly, that is exactly how I feel looking at traditional budgeting apps trying to be accessible. They take a rigid system that actively works against neurodivergent brains, layer on slick branding, responsive design, dark mode, and a chatbot, and call it ADHD friendly.
They just put a bird on it and call it a day.
At Pistachio Pay, we are not putting birds on broken budgeting systems. We are completely rebuilding personal finance from the brain up.
