I’ve been judged for my pace my whole life. 🏃🏻♀️
Told to slow down. Told to be patient. Told I was too much.
When I started building Pistachio Pay, I heard it again.
But my body was telling me otherwise.
I began waking up at 4:30a, not because of an alarm, but because something in me was ready to go. So I stopped fighting it.
This isn’t a hustle culture post. 🙅🏻♀️
I’m not here to tell anyone how to grind.
Your rhythm might look completely different than mine, and that doesn’t make you less.
I believe this journey is hard enough that it has to look different for everyone.
But for me, it looks like rising early; and I’m not rolling over and going back to sleep. 💤
There’s too much work to be done and too many lives at stake.
People outside the startup world don’t always understand this.
They say things out of care, but sometimes it’s rooted in fear.
This is the sweat equity season.
I’m learning to find rest, but it looks different right now. And for the first time, I’m not forcing myself to do something unnatural. I’m choosing to lean into my rhythms.
This morning I drove up to one of my favorite spots just above Sunset Boulevard and looked out over the city I love. ☀️🌇
I had planned to move away. And while I’m open to wherever this mission takes us, for now, I’ve made the choice to stay. 🏡
I love that I get to build here, surrounded by highly creative, highly intelligent people. I love being the dumbest person in the room. 😊
But when I look out on LA, I don’t just see glistening lights. I see the sadness beneath them. People come here to make it. Some do. Some end up on Skid Row, dreams broken, lives shattered. 💔
I want to be part of rebuilding that.
Financial stress doesn’t discriminate. It hits the Hollywood Hills and Skid Row alike.
Pistachio Pay is part of the solution. 💚
So if waking up at 4:30a offends someone, I can’t help that. I’m doing it because I believe we’re building the future of finance for everyone.
What’s your rhythm? How does it show up in your founder journey? I’d love to hear.
Money should work with your brain.
Pistachio Pay is being built to reduce the mental load of money management for neurodivergent adults.
