THE REMIX 🎧
Busta Rhymes sampled the Psycho score for "Gimme Some More." 🎵
If you don't know: those strings at the beginning of the song are from one of (if not THE most) famous horror films in cinema history.
Busta turned them into one of the hardest hype tracks of the late '90s.
Somehow the ominous beauty of Bernard Herrmann’s score from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and the excitement of a hype track live in the same body.
The same racing heart. The same heightened senses. The same "something is about to happen" energy. 💥
The difference isn't the signal. It's the context.
That's what great sampling does. It doesn't erase the original. It doesn't pretend the source material isn't what it is. It recontextualizes it. Takes something that made you grip the armrest and makes you grip the steering wheel instead. 🎧
That's also what trauma-informed design does.
At Pistachio Pay, the first trauma-informed financial automation platform, we don't pretend money isn't terrifying for neurodivergent adults. We don't slap a pastel color palette on a budget spreadsheet and call it "wellness."
We take the thing that triggers the stress response and we redesign the experience around that reality.
The overdraft alert that used to feel like a jump scare?
We reframe it.
The budget review that felt like a horror movie?
We remix it.
The financial system that was never built for your brain?
We resample it. 💚
Great producers don't ignore the source material.
They honor it by transforming it into something you actually want to hear.
That's the whole thesis. 🎯
Money should work with your brain.
Pistachio Pay is being built to reduce the mental load of money management for neurodivergent adults.
