Would you rather follow a Sherpa up Mount Everest or a tourist with a PhD? 🏔️🗺️
Above 8,000 meters, in the “Death Zone,” the human brain begins to fail. Oxygen drops. Decision-making slows. Your body starts to consume itself. ☠️
If you were standing at Base Camp, staring up at Everest or the even deadlier K2, “the Savage Mountain” that historically kills 25% of the people who attempt to summit, who would you trust to get you back alive? 🥾❄️
Option A: The expert with a PhD in glaciology. They have the certifications, the models, the shiny gear. They are elite climbers and brilliant on a standard mountain. 🎓🏔️
But this is not a standard mountain.
Option B: The Sherpa. Born in this altitude. Lungs genetically adapted to the thin air. The one who has walked this specific path a thousand times and knows exactly which patch of ice looks solid but will break under your weight. ⚠️
The answer is obvious.
Even the world’s most elite climbers hire Sherpas for the Death Zone.
Because knowing mountaineering is not the same as surviving K2.
Financial trauma is the “Death Zone” for a neurodivergent brain.
And to us, managing money isn’t a math problem; it is a survival situation. 🚩
Executive function shuts down. The “freeze” response takes over. 🧊
I see new apps appearing, built by brilliant people with great theories about “behavioral economics.” 📊
Let me be clear - believe it or not, we celebrate companies in this space. Not only because it validates our own product, but because we truly believe in financial wellness for all.
With that said, I believe that the apps I’ve seen still serve a different user.
Unless you have stood in a checkout line, staring at a carton of eggs while your heart pounds in your throat, physically unable to do the math to know if your card will decline while the line waits behind you… you are a tourist. You are not just “stressed”. Your brain has gone offline, and you are standing in the middle of a storm with no map. 🌩️ 🛒
I am not a tourist.
I am the guide who lives here.
I have navigated the mountain of financial neurodivergence my entire life.
I know where the crevasses are because I fell into them. 🕳️
I know how to survive the storm because I lived through it. 🌨️
I know the path out because I had to build it, step by agonizing step. 👷🏻♀️🏗️
Pistachio Pay is not built on theory alone. 💚
It is built on muscle memory. It is the bridge between clinical rigor and the native language of the nervous system. 🗣️🧠
When the air gets thin and the panic sets in, don’t follow the person who just read the map. 🚫
Follow the one who knows the way home. 🏡
Money should work with your brain.
Pistachio Pay is being built to reduce the mental load of money management for neurodivergent adults.
